Hiatus

2 min read
I've been studying, drawing, and getting a life as of late, so it's been a bit.

I apologize for not checking messages in a while.

So, updates:

1.  My scanner is not being cooperative.  It's an oldie, so it is probably due time to replace it.  I need to figure out what unit to save up for, so suggestions on flat bed scanners that are large enough to scan pages that are 9 by 12 and scan at the highest quality would be appreciated.  :3  I don't want to invest in a lemon.

2.  I've invested in a graphic novel on perspective, and plan on making copies at the library so I can practice drawing rooms from IRL (yes, that big scary place that has actual people and objects in it.  I'm terrified too...)

3.  So far, I've spent any free time educating myself, looking for a new job to replace the two I currently have, and hanging out with art/nature nerds.  I've been hiking at the Blue Ridge Parkway with someone who gets just as excited at lizards, salamanders, frogs, and bugs as I do.

4.  After the scanner issue, I'd really like to invest in a mid range tablet to do the digital thing.  Any suggestions on what to save up for?  :flirty: I'd appreciate it.

5.  I am still wanting to vomit after looking at the current political landscape.  They keep crawling out of the woodwork, their heads spinning and vomiting pea soup.

6.  Fashion braces, what's up with that?!

Hopefully I'll do an art dump here soon (that's provided I can get said scanner to cooperate.  :T

Have stuff to upload, but currently too busy doing the following (in no particular order):

Working.

Resting.

Drawing/Inking.

Soul searching.

Reading.

Removing all internalized self-loathing, hatred and bigotry.

Following the circus around the election year.

Vomiting in direct response to aforementioned circus.

(Yes, it IS a circus, because the ground is covered in elephant poo.)

(And yes, I do mean vomiting, because it is a fully reactionary response.)

(And don't chide me on being reactionary.  That's how I roll).

I'm hoping that conditions will improve soon.  Hope being the operative word.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

I remember the days I only dealt with them when I absolutely needed to for school.  Then, my family received an AST Bravo from my Uncle.  6 MB of RAM, a 486 processor, DOS 5 and Windows 3.11 shell.

That was the start of corruption.  I have hardly been able to be without one since.

When my computer blew up last week, I knew it was quite serious, mainly because it refused to post (you know that beep when you start your computer?  That is called "post".  When it doesn't beep, that generally signals that the processor or the pathways to the processor are FUBAR).  I took it down to people I knew because data recovery was above and beyond what I had time/resources for.  After speaking with them, I received a false hope that maybe just the power supply blew and it wasn't getting enough juice to the processor to fire up.

Nope.

The motherboard is dead as a doornail.  They're getting my data for me onto an external, and hopefully I'll be up and running by tomorrow afternoon with my new unit.

Till then, I'm limited to what I can do at the local library.

I  have over 10,000+ deviations I haven't had a chance to look at (the library computers won't let me look at the naughty bits!) and I haven't been able to get through but a fraction of my stalks on SG.

So I'll hopefully see all of you in your full glory tomorrow.

Before I go for today: has anyone played Zork in any of its beautiful forms?  I think the original counts as abandonware now...not sure.  If you get a chance to get your mitts on the original Zork (it is broken up into 4 games because it was created on an old super computer and the PCs back in the day didn't have enough room on em for the whole thing).  Another one worth exploring is "Beyond Zork", so technologically advanced, it actually has a map!  :D

Inane Thoughts

If you're a skeptic, yet believe in certain certainties, are you truly being skeptical enough?

Skeptics are too certain of their certainties, to be certain, we must be skeptical.

Shouldn't you be skeptical of skeptics too?

I think the skeptics should have skeptics assigned to them to be skeptical of their skepticism.

Those skeptics should also have skeptics of the skeptics assigned to them to be skeptical of their skepticism towards skepticism.

Then, on top of that we should be skeptical of the skepticism of the skeptics of the skepticism of the skeptical skeptics.

Only then can we really REALLY be sure that the certain certainties are certain.

...

Side Note: I wrote skeptic so many times that I had to write it into Google to make sure I was using the right word.  Now all my K's look backwards.

...

Side Note to the Side Note: I really REALLY need to stop reading books on philosophies, I think my brains are beginning to leak out my ears.

...

Side Note to the Side Note on my Side Note: No, I am NOT serious. Or maybe I am.  Or maybe I am being serious about not being serious.  I don't really know.

...

This is the last one, I promise:  I'm brewing some more coffee.  In a few minutes I should be able to feel colors.

...

No, Really: I just feel like being horribly contrary today.  It keeps my mind off of things.

It's better to walk away slowly from this one.
